Frequently Asked Question
Yes, the FTP server behaviour has indeed changed in the latest Ewon Flexy firmware:
What’s changed with FTP on new firmware?
Starting with firmware version 15.0 (released to comply with the EU’s Radio Equipment Directive as of 1 August 2025), the FTP server is now disabled by default (both after factory reset and on fresh units). It is also no longer available on the WAN interface; it can only be enabled on the LAN and/or VPN interfaces via the
ClosedDeviceparameter .A similar change applies to Firmware 23.0 for the Cosy+ model (and likely consistent with later Flexy firmware updates): FTP remains disabled by default, and can only be selectively enabled for LAN and/or VPN access .
Summary Table
| Firmware Version | FTP Default State | Interface Access Restricted? | How to Enable |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15.0 (Flexy/Cosy131) | Disabled | Yes (only LAN/VPN allowed) | Set ClosedDevice via tabular editor |
| 23.0 (Cosy+) | Disabled | Same restrictions | Same method via ClosedDevice |
